Instructional Designer
Goddard Systems Inc, King of Prussia, PA
On Site, Full Time Position

The Instructional Designer (ID) will serve as a key member of the Learning Management System implementation team by providing expertise in instructional and online learning design for adult learners working in early learning environments. The position will be responsible for working with subject matter experts to design and implement sustainable and innovative online courses supporting school business owners (franchisees), educators and other constituents. The work will include asynchronous, blended and synchronous environments to support outcomes-focused, interactive, engaging and measurable learning experiences. Additionally, an ideal candidate will be able to run training sessions in their area of expertise.


  • Developing online professional development courses for franchisees, internal employees, teachers and school education directors
  • Designing the delivery and execution of content and assessments within an online learning platform
  • Working closely with subject matter experts in the development of online and blended learning experiences
  • Supporting colleagues in the development of instructional design skills for online and blended formats
  • Facilitate and implement training in areas of expertise
  • Providing online support on the use of the online learning platform
  • Coordinate with Education Program Analyst in accessing and curating data from the online learning platform


  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in learning theory, required
  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design or related field, preferred
  • 3-5 years’ Experience designing and developing instruction for adult learners
  • 3-5 years’ Experience teaching in early childhood or K-12 environments, preferred
  • Familiarity with learning theory and design, including adult, project-based, collaborative and online learning
  • Familiarity with backwards design and the assessment of learning
  • Proficiency in the development of creative and engaging online courses and learning experiences
  • Experience with at least two learning management systems and a range of cutting-edge instructional technologies that will support the creation of engaging learning experiences
  • Current certification in professional development for early learning or a strong interest in becoming certified
  • Knowledgeable of early childhood learning and development, as well as child care business practices, preferred
