The Learning Design Specialist is responsible for leading the initiatives with instructor-led, virtual-led, and eLearning projects within the Technical Training group in Talent Management. This position requires a highly motivated and self-directed individual to provide consulting, direction, design and development for a variety of projects across multiple disciplines. The role will build strong relationships with clients, business partners, technical learning advisors and subject-matter experts and will be responsible for assisting business partners and clients with dynamic and complex issues. 

Responsibilities may include: 

  • Analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating instructor-led, virtual-led, and/or eLearning based training to meet internal client requests 
  • Applying adult learning theory to improve learning products and produce interactive and relevant content, outlines, scripts, and storyboards 
  • Creating content that meets clearly defined objectives and competency requirements 
  • Updating, managing, and maintaining existing learning content 
  • Providing guidance and consulting on appropriate learning strategies, processes, tools, and training to support developers within the company 
  • Leading instructional design contractors and/or vendors with specific learning requirements and applying proper project management and development processes 
  • Analyzing trends and metrics for the Technical Training group to continuously improve service delivery activities 
  • Responding to and resolving end-user customer technical issues regarding eLearning products within the service-level agreement 
  • Testing and troubleshooting eLearning modules to determine likely problem areas, including rewriting or reprogramming the module to correct issues 
  • Assisting in the deployment of best practices in instructional design technologies and methodologies and benchmarking for improving learning product 
  • Remaining current with latest industry technology, tools, trends, and vendors with relation to learning 
  • Working individually with subject matter experts to design and develop appropriate learning content with minimal supervision 
  • Attentiveness to details in producing, writing, and proofing all coursework materials to ensure consistency in form, format, and function
